In short

  • ClutterOff works with your photos and videos on your iPhone. It never uploads them.
  • There is no account, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics.
  • The app collects no data about you. Apple handles the purchase.

Who we are

ClutterOff is an iPhone app. The app and this website belong to:

Tideline Labs Limited7/F, MW Tower111 Bonham StrandSheung Wan, Hong KongHong Kong SARBusiness Registration No. 80265551

In this policy “we” means that company, “the app” means ClutterOff for iPhone, and “the site” means clutteroff.com. For anything about privacy, write to contact@tidelinelabsltd.com.

The app

Your photos and videos

The app shows you the photos and videos in your library so that you can decide what to keep. To do that it reads them through Apple’s Photos framework, together with their dates, sizes and albums. All of this happens on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and we run no server that could receive it.

You choose what the app may see: your whole library, or only the photos you pick. You can change that at any time in iPhone Settings.

The app deletes something only after you confirm it twice: first in the app’s trash, then in the confirmation iOS shows. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where Apple keeps them for 30 days.

What the app saves on your iPhone

So that you can stop and carry on later, the app keeps a few things in its own storage on your device:

We cannot see any of this. Deleting the app deletes it. If you back up your iPhone, your decisions and settings are part of that backup, like the data of your other apps.

Photos kept in iCloud

When the original of a photo or video is stored in iCloud and not on your iPhone, the app asks you before it is downloaded. The download is done by iOS, from Apple. We take no part in it.

The purchase

Unlimited is a one-time purchase made through the App Store. Apple takes the payment. We never receive your name, your Apple Account, your card or your address. To know whether Unlimited is active, the app asks the App Store on your device, and it sends the answer nowhere.

Apple gives us sales reports with totals, for example how many purchases were made in a country. They do not identify you.

Crash reports from Apple

The app contains no analytics and no crash-reporting code. If you have allowed your iPhone to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and usage statistics for the app, in a form that does not identify you. You can turn this off in iPhone Settings, under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, Share With App Developers.

What the app does not do

This website

The site is a few plain pages. It sets no cookies, has no analytics, has no forms and loads nothing from other companies.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any website, the host’s servers receive the technical details your browser sends with each request: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the type of browser. They are used to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse. We do not use them to identify you.

When you write to us

If you send us an email, we receive your address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write or attach. We use it to answer you and to fix the problem you describe, and for nothing else. Our email provider stores the messages for us.

We keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to help you and to have a record of what we answered. Ask us to delete it and we will.

You never need to send us your photos. A description of the problem is enough.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, the law gives you further rights.

We are based in Hong Kong. Our hosting and email providers run servers in several countries, so an email you send us may be stored outside the country you live in.

Children

The app is a general tool and is not aimed at children. It collects no personal data, from children or from anyone else. If you believe a child has written to us, tell us and we will delete the message.

Changes

If the app or the site begins to handle data differently, we will change this page and the date at the top before that happens.
